Data controller

The party responsible for data processing on this website is Les Compagnons du Vin Suisse (LCV Suisse). For any data-protection question, contact us at post@lcvsuisse.ch.

Data we process

• Account data: your name, your email address and — if provided — how you know the Brotherhood.
• Sign-up & login: via our provider Supabase. If you use “Continue with Google”, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us.
• Newsletter: your email address, if you subscribe to the newsletter.
• Technical data: IP address, browser and access time, logged by our hosting services when you visit.
• Sign-in log: for security and abuse control we record your IP address and an approximate location derived from it (country, region, city) each time you sign in to the members' area. These details are visible only to the Loge's administrators.
• Email log: we record when our automatic emails are sent (message type, recipient address, time and whether it succeeded) so we can verify delivery.
• Usage statistics: to improve the site we record internally which pages of the members' area are visited. This analysis is for our use only and is never shared with third parties.
• Cookies: a strictly necessary session cookie, your language choice, and a cookie from our bot-protection (Cloudflare Turnstile).

Purposes and legal bases

• Providing the members' area and managing membership (contract / pre-contractual steps and legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
• Security and abuse prevention, including the captcha (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• Sending the newsletter (your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.
• Operating, stabilising and securing the website (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Cookies

We use only a few strictly necessary cookies to keep the site working and remember your language. We set no advertising or tracking cookies and do no user-level tracking.

Service providers and recipients

We use carefully selected processors who handle data only on our instructions:

• Supabase – database, authentication and storage of account data.
• Netlify – website hosting and delivery.
• Cyon (Switzerland) – sending emails (e.g. the confirmation code).
• Google – Google Maps on the travel pages and “Continue with Google”, if you use it.
• Cloudflare – bot and abuse protection (Turnstile).

International transfers

Some of these services process data outside Switzerland and the EEA, in particular in the USA. Such transfers rely on an adequacy decision (EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or on Standard Contractual Clauses as appropriate safeguards.

Retention

We keep your account data for as long as you have an account or remain a member. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. After that we delete or anonymise the data, unless legal retention obligations apply.

Your rights

Under applicable law you have the following rights. To exercise them, simply email post@lcvsuisse.ch:

• access to the data we process about you;
• rectification of inaccurate data;
• erasure and restriction of processing;
• data portability;
• objection to certain processing;
• withdrawal of consent you have given (e.g. newsletter) with effect for the future;
• lodging a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Switzerland the FDPIC, in the EU your competent data-protection authority.

Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Data is transmitted encrypted (HTTPS).

Changes to this notice

We may update this privacy notice when our website or the legal requirements change. The version published on this page applies.
